Well, it's been some time since I've written anything here, and that's because it's been some time since I was last at 'home'. In fact I left the Far West (of Nepal) for Kathmandu on the 8th February to work on the preparation for our annual education conference. This turned out to be quite a challenge, so I didn't really get out other than on a couple of occasions. With follow-up work, this whole business took me through to early March, when Terri and I headed out to Thailand for Jo's 15th birthday.
Whilst there, I bought a new camera (the old Sony H1 bit the dust at Christmas) - a Canon SX40 HS. It's one of these 'bridge' cameras and suits my habits just fine, being not too weighty yet with an optical zoom of 35x. Very pleased so far - though been shooting mainly on 'P' or auto.
Will have to write in a little more detail later but here are some results from the new camera.
Mark.
